Matt Silver knocked in all 3 runs for the Maui Tropics, helping them beat the Chicago Machine, 3-1. Júlio González got credit for the win, improving to 2-3. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 8 innings. Pedro Magana earned the save for Maui, his 3rd of the year.

Silver turned the game around in the top of the seventh. That's when the Maui shortstop dialed up a 2-run home run. Just like that, Maui's 1-0 deficit turned into a 2-1 lead.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Tropics manager Patrick Patterson, "I like our chances."

With the win, Maui improves its record to 9-17.
