Rockets Need Extras to Top Bandits
|
Luis Valentín was superb against San Francisco. The left-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the NL with a 4 quality starts, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 4-3 Rockets victory. Nassau has a record of 12-12.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With two out, Doug Thompson hit a 0-2 splitter from Kunihiko Daikawa for a solo home run. It put Nassau in front, 4-3.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Valentín told the Nassau Observer.
