Marshals Stun Knights, 8-1
|
Conditions were not ideal but Houston and New York were able to put their game in the books.
The Houston Marshals and starting pitcher Braydon Schute stifled the New York offense en route to a comfortable 8-1 win at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark. The Knights fall to 7-15 and continue their lackluster start to the 2027 season.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter John Peterson came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing New York pitcher Leo Huggins, he hit a 2-1 cutter for a run-scoring double. It was a game-changer, putting Houston on top, 2-1.
"We came out aggressive," said Marshals manager Tom Lucott. "We came out swinging the bats."
