The winning streak continued for Springfield at Kekambas Park.
Shane Hutchinson added some punch to the Springfield offense, helping them outmuscle the Madison Bombers, 8-7. In the game, Hutchinson, who is tied for 5th in the CL in RBI with 21, was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Springfield reliever Yajirobei Endo, now 1-0. The loser was Dave Carbone.
Springfield took the lead in the bottom of the eighth when Hutchinson hit a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season made the score 7-4, Springfield.
"We'll enjoy this hot streak as long as it lasts," said Hutchinson.
Springfield, now 19-2, has played well in the early going.
