Abbott Goes Off, But Boccabellas Win
|
Orlando shortstop Tim Abbott pounded Pocatello Boccabellas pitchers at Mel Fields, but it was not enough to keep the Calrissian from falling, 9-3. Abbott went 4 for 4 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. Pocatello is now 12-8.
Francisco Sandoval played a key role in the win for the Boccabellas. The third baseman punched a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning. For the game, Sandoval was 2-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5.
"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Steve Watson, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."
