Hitmen Win Thriller, 6-5
|
The San Francisco Bandits got a sterling performance from shortstop Javier Ramírez, but the Hitmen still prevailed, 6-5. Ramírez was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs. The win was credited to Bill Lowe in relief. His record improves to 1-4. Kunihiko Daikawa took the loss. Hendersonville has now won 3 straight, while the Bandits have lost 3 in a row.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Eduardo García came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing San Francisco pitcher Kunihiko Daikawa, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Hendersonville on top, 6-5.
García said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
