Steeldogs Fall Short at New Orleans
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the New Orleans Looters got the win.
The New Orleans Looters eked out a 4-3 win versus the Birmingham Steeldogs at The Bayou at Heineken Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Anthony O'Connor, who captured player of the game honors. New Orleans reliever Ienobu Sato picked up the win, upping his record to 5-4. Ken Lyons absorbed the loss.
New Orleans took the lead in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Nate Rhodes stroked a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Looters.
"This was a good win for us," said Rhodes. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
The Looters now have a record of 90-47 with the win over Birmingham.
