Los Cabos pitcher Marty Burgess did his part in helping his team beat the Pocatello Boccabellas, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Burgess, the winner, moves to 2-0. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up no walks. Masahiko Okada earned the save for Los Cabos, his 1st of the year.
Los Cabos center fielder Fernando Martínez gave his club a productive at-bat in the top of the seventh inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Cartel trailing 3-2, Martínez hit a run-scoring double.
Burgess told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
The Boccabellas, now 7-7, continue their sluggish start.
