Los Cabos catcher Julián Madrid had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Austin River Sharks, 5-4. Los Cabos reliever José Ruíz picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. António Coronado was saddled with the loss. António Martínez earned his 8th save in 12 chances.
In the top of the eighth inning, designated hitter Stanley Mullins came through big-time for the Cartel. With Los Cabos trailing 4-3, he belted a solo home run.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Mullins.
The Cartel go to 58-72, putting them third in the National League Western Division.
