Beavers Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
The 2027 season began for the Boston Rebels with a loss to the Baffin Island Beavers at Fenway Park. The final score was 6-1. Baffin Island pitcher Robert Reeves earned top player honors.

Keng-chi Lao was 1-5 for Baffin Island. The 29-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Mark MacGruder. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"Got a lot of swings and misses today," said Reeves.
