Sheens Walk It Off for 61st Win of Season
|
The Seattle Pikes wasted an inspired, 9.1-inning effort from starter Marcos Benítez, falling 2-1 to the St Charles Sheens at Crown Royal Stadium. The winner was Larry Stewart in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Cristián Escobar took the loss. The last-place Sheens improved to 61-66.
Bill Little had the critical at-bat for St Charles. With two out in the bottom of the 11th inning, he hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It gave St Charles the 2-1 walk-off win.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Jonathan Campbell, the St Charles skipper.
