Steeldogs Stay Hot With 9-7 Win
Another day, another victory for the red-hot Birmingham Steeldogs.

Carlos García helped his team muscle past the Hendersonville Hitmen, 9-7. In the game, the Birmingham designated hitter went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Birmingham reliever Craig Draper picked up the win, upping his record to 4-5. Juan Nieto was saddled with the loss. Jeffrey Stephens closed it out for his 7th save.

The Steeldogs got a big boost from left fielder Ashley Pickhills who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the eighth inning off Hitmen hurler Juan Nieto. It was his 20th walk of the season and put Birmingham on top, 8-7.

"The clubhouse vibe is great," said Birmingham manager Gilberto Cortéz.

The losses continue to add up for Hendersonville, which has now fallen 8 times in a row.
