The skies opened up and the rain fell at Gateway Stadium.
Plymouth beat St. Louis at Gateway Stadium, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Víctor Serrano, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Bartolo García was credited with the save for Plymouth, his 36th of the season.
Serrano had a clutch at-bat in the top of the fourth for the Rocks. Coming up with runners on 1st and 3rd and Plymouth trailing 1-0, he hit a 3-run home run.
"This team is real focused right now," said Plymouth manager Jaime Torres.
The Browns, at 73-53, have lost 4 straight games.
