Knights Get Road Win, 7-3
|
The rain at Edmund Fitzgerald Field did not keep New York and Niagara Falls from finishing their game.
The New York Knights defeated the Niagara Falls Frenzy, 7-3. Earning player of the game honors was shortstop Pepe Carrasco, who was 1-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Jim Nelson closed the door for New York, picking up his 1st save of the year.
In the top of the second inning, New York got a break when Carrasco went to the plate. With two outs, runners on 1st and 2nd and the Knights leading 2-0, Carrasco hit a 3-run home run.
"It feels good to get this one," Carrasco told the New York Herald.
At 46-79, New York is in 4th place in the National League Eastern Division.
