Great Day for Sandoval in Royale with Cheese Win
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Roberto Sandoval, the Kalamazoo Royale with Cheese defeated the Irvine Gang Green, 7-0. Sandoval was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Royale with Cheese. The winner was Kalamazoo reliever António Ojeda, now 4-5. The loser was Mike Marrero. Kalamazoo currently is in 4th place in the Continental League Central Division at 54-61.
One important at-bat for Kalamazoo came with one out in the bottom of the third inning. With a runner on 1st, Sandoval hit a 2-run home run, which contributed to the Royale with Cheese win.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Kalamazoo manager Domingos Jacobsen. "Our pregame was pretty good."
