Rebels Curb Beavers, 5-2

The Rebels had to overcome a good performance from Baffin Island pitcher Robert Reeves to claim a 5-2 win at Beaver Dam. Reeves went 5.2 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Ramón López, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 9 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 4-16. The win puts the Rebels at 36-78, while the Beavers drop to 72-41.
Randy Simons's at-bat in the top of the eighth inning was a big one for Boston. Coming to bat with two out, runners on 2nd and 3rd and Boston leading 3-2, the third baseman hit a 2-run single.
"Nice to get this one," said Simons. "Wins have been hard to come by."
