Henvy Stay Hot With 5-2 Win
|
So Cal and Seattle took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The So Cal Henvy picked up a win at Pikes' Point Stadium, knocking off the Seattle Pikes, 5-2. Starting pitcher Jeffrey King, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. King got the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 3 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. King allowed 1 earned run. Getting the save was Jerry Good, his 6th.
Earl Wiggins helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to give So Cal a 2-0 lead.
"Jeffrey is still learning," said Henvy manager Jorge Rivera. "The sky's the limit for him."
The Henvy, now 10-2, have been on fire in the early going.
