Knights Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Bandits
|
The New York Knights downed the San Francisco Bandits, 6-4, at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark. Marvin Harris led the way, going 2-for-3 for New York. New York reliever Scott Hill was credited with the win, to go to 1-2. Alfonso Martínez took the loss for San Francisco. António Sánchez earned the save for New York, his 2nd of the year.
Had Tom Blake not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Blake hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Knights.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Harris.
With the win, New York goes to 39-67, while the Bandits fall to 36-71.
