Knights Get Past Hendersonville for 4-3 Win
|
The Hendersonville Hitmen got a superb performance from pitcher Yong-hoon Park, but the New York Knights still won the game, 4-3. Park was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. Juan Ortíz got the save, the 3rd for him this season. The Knights raised their record to 38-63.
In the top of the 8th, left fielder Tom Blake gave New York the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Knights had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Hendersonville pitcher Juan Nieto changed that -- and New York went on to win.
After the game, New York manager Ed Livingston applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
