Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Calrissian
|
The Orlando Calrissian wiggled past the Baffin Island Beavers, 5-4, at Mel Fields. Orlando pitcher Reagan Wear earned player of the game honors. Clarence Skerratt, credited with the win, is now 3-2. He allowed 1 run on no hits in 2 innings. At 34-65, the Calrissian are currently last in the National League Southern Division.
Orlando won the game in the bottom of the 12th inning. With no outs and Edgardo Guzmán on the mound for Baffin Island, left fielder Cristo Ontiveros hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Calrissian fans to their feet.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Orlando manager Gerald Atkins. "It's usually not just one thing."
