Bandits Stick Tropics with 7-2 Loss
|
San Francisco beat Maui in a rain-soaked ballgame.
The San Francisco Bandits knocked off the Maui Tropics, 7-2, at Rainbow Stadium. Javier Ramírez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason San Francisco won. The shortstop was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The winner was Mal Park in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Tony Marrero took the loss.
San Francisco took a 3-1 lead on Ramírez's 5th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Tony Marrero in the top of the seventh, propelled San Francisco to the win.
"We had a nice day," said San Francisco skipper Peter McNeill.
The Tropics, now 3-8, continue their slow start.
