Frenzy Roll to 9-2 Win Over Rockets
|
Niagara Falls got a strong outing from Ed Jones as the Frenzy defeated the Nassau Rockets, 9-2, at Edmund Fitzgerald Field. Jones went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 6-12. Terry Fields recorded the save for Niagara Falls, his 1st of the season.
Tomás Estrada had a big run-scoring double for the Frenzy in the bottom of the second inning. With Niagara Falls trailing 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a splitter from Luis Valentín and stroked the double to left-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Frenzy ahead, 2-1.
"We looked pretty good up and down," said Niagara Falls manager John Leach.
The Frenzy saw their record improve to 46-53.
