Ramey Leads Rockets to Win
|
The St. Louis Browns and Nassau Rockets brought some excitement to Gateway Stadium.
The Nassau Rockets relied on the hitting of right fielder Don Ramey to stop the St. Louis Browns, 11-5. For the game, Ramey went 4-5 with 3 doubles. He scored 4 times and drove in 3. Nassau reliever Valentín Luna picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Nelson Ortega shouldered the loss.
Nassau took a 6-4 lead on Ramey's 19th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Beau Brown in the top of the sixth, propelled Nassau to the win.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Ramey told reporters after the game.
Nassau is second in the National League Southern Division with a record of 46-50.
