River Sharks Mow Down Marshals, 9-4
|
The Austin River Sharks defeated the Houston Marshals, 9-4, at Mythology Coliseum. Austin right fielder Harry Pitts was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3-4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times. Austin starter Dave Huot was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. The last-place River Sharks improved to 28-67.
The tide might have turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth, had not Dave Huot made a big pitch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Marshals trailing 6-1, he retired Juan Gómez, who flied out.
