Rockets Beat Looters, 5-2
|
The Nassau Rockets picked up a win at Nassau Grounds, knocking off the New Orleans Looters, 5-2. Starting pitcher Luis Valentín, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Nolan Baker locked down his 2nd save. After today's action, Nassau sits at 45-49, while New Orleans falls to 57-37.
Salvador Borbón aided the Nassau cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the shortstop was 1 for 3. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Borbón.
