Steeldogs Bang Out 10-7 Win Versus Hendersonville
|
Hendersonville first baseman David Johnstone had a good game, even if his team did not. The Hitmen dropped a 10-7 decision to Birmingham at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace. Johnstone was 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Mitch Brown closed the game out for Birmingham, earning his 20th save. Today's win puts Birmingham at 33-61, while Hendersonville falls to 43-52.
In the bottom of the third inning, center fielder José Carlos Caraballo came through big-time for the Steeldogs. With Birmingham trailing 2-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Birmingham manager Gilberto Cortéz.
