Seattle Win Evens Series at 1
|
The Seattle Pikes defeated the Springfield Stars, 7-4 in Game 2 of the Divisional Round today. Earning player of the game honors was designated hitter António Ortega, who went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win moves Seattle into a 1-1 tie with Springfield in the series.
Manuel Rico aided the Seattle cause with a 2-run double in the top of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Ortega. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
Game 3 is set to be played on Friday, October 15th, 2027 at Pikes' Point Stadium. Slated to start are Kyu-pyeong Pak for the Stars and António Rijo for the Pikes.
