Frenzy Come Up Short at New York
|
The New York Knights topped the Niagara Falls Frenzy by the score of 4-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman Lonnie Anderson. Anderson was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Knights on the day. Vic Watts notched his 2nd save in 2 chances. The Knights improve their record to 35-57 with the win over Niagara Falls.
Anderson had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-0 fastball from Manuel Rodríguez, he banged a 2-run double to center, giving the Knights a 3-2 lead. It was the 14th double of the year for Anderson.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Anderson, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
