The Springfield Stars defeated the Austin River Sharks, 6-5, in Continental League action at Kekambas Park, with Springfield left fielder Felipe Guerrero named player of the game. Jorge Delgado got credit for the win, improving to 4-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. The last-place River Sharks have dropped 6 straight games.
The Stars were down to their final out when second baseman Shane Hutchinson turned a 1-0 fastball from Josh Graham into a 2-run triple. The walk-off triple made the Kekambas Park crowd go wild.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Hutchinson told the Springfield Bulletin.
