Tropics Deal Bandits Painful Loss
The rain could not keep the Rainbow Stadium crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.

In a tight contest at Rainbow Stadium, the Maui Tropics edged the San Francisco Bandits by the score of 6-5. Maui shortstop Matt Silver, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Maui, now 3-7, is off to a slow start.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Silver hit a fastball from Kunihiko Daikawa for a solo home run. The Tropics, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"Put a star next to this win," Silver said.
