Gang Green Stymie Niagara Falls, Take 3-1 Win

The Irvine Gang Green went home winners at The Ballpark at Irvine, thanks in large part to starter Jung Chwa. Chwa silenced the Niagara Falls Frenzy, enabling Irvine to grab the 3-1 win. Chwa got the win, improving to 6-5. He allowed 9 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Chwa allowed 1 earned run. Mike Fisher picked up the save, his 15th.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Jesús Campos muscled up and hit a solo home run. It put Irvine ahead, 2-1. For the game, Campos was 1-4 with a home run.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Campos.
Irvine, at 44-33, occupies second place in the National League Western Division.
