Big Day by Owens Sparks Frenzy Win
|
The Niagara Falls Frenzy bested the Madison Bombers by a score of 9-5, with right fielder Dante Owens getting the main credit. On the day, Owens went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Frenzy. The Frenzy raised their record to 71-84.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the fifth inning. That's when first baseman Jorge Cora drew a walk. The Frenzy went on to win.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Niagara Falls skipper John Leach. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
