Lambert, Sheens Rough Up Bandits
|
The St Charles Sheens easily defeated the San Francisco Bandits, 14-1, at Bay View Park, with right fielder Jason Lambert a main contributor to the win. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for St Charles. St Charles reliever Jesús Andrade picked up the win, bumping his record to 6-7. Yodo Nakagawa was collared with the loss. With the win, the Sheens improved to 69-84.
Lambert delivered in the top of the second inning for St Charles. With the game tied and the bases loaded, the right fielder hit a run-scoring single to left.
"The score speaks for itself," said losing manager Peter McNeill. "It was embarrassing."
