Hitmen Fall Short at Orlando
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Orlando Calrissian eventually prevailed at Mel Fields.
In a tight contest at Mel Fields, the Orlando Calrissian edged the Hendersonville Hitmen by the score of 10-9. Orlando first baseman Júlio Negrón, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Orlando reliever Aaron Abrams picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Bill Lowe absorbed the loss.
Jaime Montés was the walk-off hero for Orlando. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Calrissian third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place was rockin'," Montés said.
The slumping Hitmen have lost 7 straight.
