So Cal Hot Streak Continues with 5-2 Win

The So Cal Henvy extended their winning streak at Jersey West at Staples Field.
The So Cal Henvy stymied the New York Knights, 5-2, at Jersey West at Staples Field. César Valentín, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for So Cal. So Cal reliever Stanley Inman picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. António Sánchez was saddled with the loss.
Earl Wiggins wielded some clout for So Cal. The catcher had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first for the Henvy. It put his team ahead, 2-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Wiggins went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I expect to carry this team on my shoulders at times," said Valentín.
The first-place Henvy have won 7 in a row.
