Rocks Win Again, Streak Now at 15
|
The Plymouth Rocks eked out a 3-2 win versus the Houston Marshals at Play Rocks Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Walt Burton, who captured player of the game honors. Reliever Manuel Parra picked up the win. His record improves to 5-0. Dave Rhodes took the loss. Lorenzo Aguilar, credited with the save, is now 2 for 3 in save opportunities.
Plymouth took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Taylor McFarland stroked a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Rocks.
"We're just feeding off each other right now," said McFarland.
The first-place Rocks have won 15 straight games.
