Ward 5-for-6 for Headhunters Friday, August 28th, 2026 Burt Ward of the Headhunters was unstoppable in today's 17-1 victory over the Pueblo Prairie Dogs at Ballpark of Half Moon Bay. He battered them for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. "Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Watertown center fielder after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-for-6 won't hurt your batting average like 0-for-5 will." Burt Ward doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. Ward is currently batting .296 with 1 home run and 8 RBIs. |
