Núñez Raps Yellowknife for 5 Hits Wednesday, August 26th, 2026 No matter what the Yellowknife Claws threw at him today, Rickey Núñez hit it. He easily handled Claws pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Music to a 18-5 triumph at Santa Clarita Grounds. He told BNN reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball." The Yellowknife skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we might just do that... blindfold him... and then pitch him differently, just to be sure." Rickey Núñez hit a two-run home run off Stanley Wise in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and singled in the 7th. In 35 games this season Núñez has compiled a .263 batting average with 35 hits and 2 home runs. He has also scored 16 times and knocked in 20 runs. |
