Great Day for Chucha -- 5 Hits Friday, August 14th, 2026 Amaro Chucha exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Rancho Cucamonga Fields. The Rancho Cucamonga shortstop had a field day against the Fort Collins Commoners, finishing with a 5-for-6 day. "It's a shame that we lost the game. It's really hard to enjoy what I did today," he said, lamenting the 9-8 loss. "You would think 5 hits would do it." Asked about his great day, he replied, "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple. I focus just to see the ball and try to get a good pitch." Well, Chucha must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. Amaro Chucha singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th. Chucha has collected 41 hits for the Sick Monkeys this year, 0 of them home runs. He has also netted 11 RBIs and scored 18 runs while batting .345. |
