Golden Tornado Pitching Ravaged by Clayton Friday, May 2nd, 2025 Bishop Amat HS third baseman Mathew Clayton could do no wrong in today's 16-4 win over the Golden Tornado as he collected 5 hits. "In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Golden Tornado said to the press corps after the game. Clayton agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready." Mathew Clayton flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. This year Clayton has 3 home runs and a .394 batting average. |
