H.H. Dow HS's Varela Out 6 Months Wednesday, May 6th, 2026 "I'm frustrated right now," said H.H. Dow HS reliever Ramón Varela. "I can't help this team by sitting on the bench or in the training room." Unfortunately for the Chargers, that's where he will be spending 6 months. Varela suffered bone chips in his elbow in today's game against Madawaska Valley HS while throwing a pitch. "Believe me," he said, "I won't be out a day longer than I have to be." To date this year Varela has fashioned a 5.96 ERA over 25.2 innings with a 4-0 record. He has made 14 relief appearances with 27 strikeouts and no saves. |
