Bass Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Monday, April 27th, 2026 On top of the Mountain Pointe HS hit parade today was Richard Bass. He went to the plate 5 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Mountain Pointe HS to a 10-9 victory over the Fort Worth HS Turkeys. The sweet swinging third baseman told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Turkeys wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Richard Bass singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Robert Caldwell in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Mario Benoit in the 9th. In his stats this season, Bass has posted a batting average of .319 with 29 hits in 91 at-bats, 7 home runs and 22 RBIs. He has also scored 19 runs, walked 12 times and compiled a .415 OBP. |
