5-for-6 Day for Dempsey Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 It was a big day with the bat for Ward Dempsey of the Fresno HS Red Wings at Ballpark of Bethlehem HS as he bashed out hit after hit after hit to defeat Temiskaming District Secondary School 13-8. After the game he said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today. 5 hits in 6 tries. But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story." At the end of the game Dempsey had collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Red Wings had won. Ward Dempsey hit a two-run home run off Steve Harris in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. In his season totals Dempsey has 3 home runs and a .519 batting average. |
