Whitehead Tags Jayhawks for 5 Hits Wednesday, May 7th, 2025 If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Nick Whitehead showed how it's done as he went 5 for 5 against the Kansas Jayhawks and helped the Michigan State Spartans beat them 10-1. The manager for the Jayhawks told the BNN sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames." If Whitehead keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise. Nick Whitehead doubled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Gerard Gustafson in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this season Whitehead has put up a .290 batting average with 38 hits, 5 home runs and 18 RBIs. |
