Hits Galore: Echevarrķa Drills 5 Hits Friday, April 18th, 2025 On top of the Maryland hit parade today was Pedro Echevarrķa. He went to the plate 5 times and tagged 5 hits, but it was Kentucky that marched off with the 7-6 win. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-for-5 performance, however the Wildcats marked it up in the victory column. The sweet swinging right fielder told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Terrapins griped to the press, "As a team, we just didn't do it with the bats and the pitching today. That's why we lost." Pedro Echevarrķa singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Rafael Torres in the 9th. So far this season Echevarrķa is hitting .239 with 1 home run, 3 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has 16 hits in 67 at-bats and a .311 OBP. |
