Big Day for Thompson: Swats 5 Hits Saturday, April 12th, 2025 It was high-5 day at Dudy Noble Field, at least for Eric Thompson of the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Michigan State Spartans. Thompson smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on his record-setting day, leading his club to a 11-9 win. His manager said, "Eric was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him." In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine." Eric Thompson grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Curt Barnes in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. This season Thompson is hitting at a .463 pace with 3 home runs, 11 RBIs and has scored 13 times. |
