Costa Swats 3 HR Against Duke
Sunday, May 24th, 2026
Today was a special one for Félix Costa of the Saint John's Red Storm as he slammed three home runs in the 13-8 win over the Duke Blue Devils.
"Lately, I been uppercutting the ball too much. I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark," he said to sportswriters after the game. "No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot three times. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em."
The Saint John's center fielder had quite a game at Jack Coombs Field as he collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 4, and scored 4 runs.
Félix Costa hit a solo-shot off Theron Jackson in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Theron Jackson in the 4th, walked in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Woodrow Mitchell in the 9th.
Thus far this year Costa is batting .271 with 8 home runs, 29 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
