5 Hits for Hurricanes Summers Monday, May 11th, 2026 5 hits in 5 at-bats. It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Elvin Summers of the Miami Hurricanes had a sensational game against Wake Forest at Gene Hooks Stadium. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 6-2 shellacking of the Demon Deacons. In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did ,it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off. Right, skipper?" Elvin Summers singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off John Gill in the 7th and singled in the 8th. So far this year Summers has hit .351 with 4 home runs, 20 RBIs and 36 runs scored. |
