Huskies SP Alonzo Out
Monday, April 27th, 2026
Paco Alonzo at first refused to leave today's Louisville-Washington game after he suffered a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Washington starting pitcher said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Alonzo out of action for 18 months.
Alonzo has gone 0-2 this season with an ERA of 5.27 and 32 strikeouts in 27.1 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .317 against him.
