5-for-5 Day for Keesee
Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026
It was a sensational day at the plate for Ed Keesee, but a letdown as well as the Scarlet Knights dropped the game 5-4 to the Demon Deacons. Nonetheless the Rutgers second baseman was pure misery for the Wake Forest pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win. That's the important thing," Keesee said. The manager of the Demon Deacons told BNN reporters after the game, "Keesee put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw him some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Ed Keesee singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This year Keesee has hit at a .400 clip with 17 RBIs, 6 home runs and 25 runs scored.
